Miami Hurricanes Women's Basketball Announces Captains for 2025-26 Season
As the second year of Tricia Cullop?s tenure approaches for the Miami Hurricanes women's basketball team, the captains for the 2025-26 season have been announced. Unlike last year, which featured five captains including the Cavinder twins, this season will see Ahnay Adams and Jessica Peterson taking on leadership roles.
Ahnay Adams, a 5-foot-6 sophomore guard from New Bedford, Massachusetts, returns for her second season with the Hurricanes. She played in all 29 games last year, contributing nearly four points and 1.1 steals per game, showcasing her skills as a ball handler and tenacious defender.
Jessica Peterson, a 6-foot-2 center and transfer from SMU, adds valuable experience to the squad. Last season, she averaged 10.3 points and 12 rebounds per game, breaking the SMU record for rebounds in a season. Peterson also led the ACC in rebounding during conference play with an impressive 11.4 rebounds per game. The Hurricanes will kick off their season against Hofstra on November 3 at 5 p.m. at the Watsco Center.
